Maaike Meindertsma

Maaike Meindertsma

Maaike Meindertsma (1999, NL) is a visual artist from the northern Netherlands. During her Fine Art studies at Academie Minerva and her background in gymnastics, she developed a fascination with movement, the body, and the brain. In her audiovisual installations—which combine research, performance, and film—she explores the relationship our bodies form with their surroundings. Site-specificity and a sense of endlessness play a major role in how her work is presented.

During her residency at Kunstwerk Kolderveen (April 29 – May 13, 2025), Maaike reflects on her practice and captures new footage in and around the studio, taking the first steps toward creating new work. Maaike is one of the artists participating in our VHDG Connect program.

We would like to thank Kunstwerk Kolderveen for facilitating Maaike during her residency, which is also part of a Tweespraak trajectory, made possible by Keunstwurk.
