Starting in 2025, our artist-in-residence program will take a new direction under the name VHDG Lokaal. This renewed approach focuses on artists, duos, and collectives who work closely with local communities. By emphasizing embedded practices, we aim to stimulate process-based projects that unfold over a longer period, enriched with unique art workshops, exhibitions, and other activities.
Artists will now be engaged for a full year, giving them more time to build meaningful connections with their surroundings and the people within them. We believe that this long-term involvement not only enhances the quality of the work but also fosters stronger and more reciprocal relationships.
Within this new model, artistic research, production, public participation, and presentation are equally important, resulting in a more inclusive and collaborative creative process.
