Between exhibitions, we love to put the spotlight on local talent and emerging makers. During the Art Market, we make room for them quite literally: our exhibition space temporarily becomes their stage.
For this eighth edition, we selected ten makers through an open call. You’ll find work by Juju Studio, Marikaato, MANDRAGOR, Foppe (BOMS) Peterson, Sjoukje Leeverink, Alexandrina Ciubotaru, Britt Soede, Kaitlyn Martin, Karina Puuffin and Anne Hendriks.
Together, they bring a wide mix of materials and techniques: from ceramics, paintings and illustrations to textiles, jewellery, collages, prints, postcards, preserved fruit jars and even art on flattened soda cans.
See something that makes you happy? All of the work in this space is for sale. And the best thing: all proceeds go directly to the maker. So you can take home something special, while directly supporting an artist.
Juju Studio Ceramics, jewelry, and postcards
Through her ceramic figures, Anju explores themes of self-expression, intimacy, and nostalgia. Featuring colorful outfits and bold personalities, her characters celebrate the freedom to confidently be yourself on your own terms.
Marikaato Illustrations, prints, postcards, and embroidery kits Maria puts a contemporary twist on traditional Dutch culture. In her colorful work and postcards, she weaves together familiar forms, historic buildings, and fun trivia to bring history into everyday life.
MANDRAGOR Handmade jewelry
Creating under the name MANDRAGOR, Sally combines chainmail, soldering techniques, natural stones, and tin. Her alternative, dark, and fairytale-like jewelry draws inspiration from gothic aesthetics, the Middle Ages, and the world of insects.
Foppe (BOMS) Peterson Mixed media, collages, prints, works on canvas, and soda cans
With roots in the 1990s graffiti scene, Foppe mixes spray paint, acrylics, and stencils across a variety of surfaces, from canvas to flattened soda cans. His vibrant work is inspired by street art, music, typography, and comics.
Sjoukje Leeverink Miniature paintings in Baroque frames
Working under the name From the Mere, Sjoukje creates pieces that highlight beauty in the unusual. Inspired by cabinets of curiosities, she paints small animal and nature motifs set inside hand-cast plaster Baroque frames.
Alexandrina Ciubotaru Preserved fruit jars, recipes, postcards, and booklets
In The Sour Cherry Kitchen, spatial designer Alexandrina uses a Moldovan family recipe for preserved cherries to explore how kitchens and everyday spaces preserve care, memory, and generational knowledge.
Britt Soede Felt works, illustrations, a book, card sets, and hats
Britt explores “in-between spaces”: forgotten places where nature is left to grow freely. Driven by this fascination, she creates dreamy felt works and illustrations that balance chaos and playful structure.
Kaitlyn Martin Paintings, prints, postcards, stickers, and print club
Kaitlyn translates fleeting memories, emotions, and identity into paintings filled with rich, vivid colors. Animals frequently feature as symbols of vulnerability, connection, and belonging.
Karina Puuffin Ceramic wall objects
Working at the intersection of painting and sculpture, Karina playfully questions traditional art rules. Created during a residency at the EKWC, her glossy ceramic wall pieces combine pop art elements with bold abstract shapes.
Anne Hendriks Printed clothing, hand-sewn bandanas, and patches
Driven by curiosity and storytelling, Anne brings expressive drawings onto textiles. For the Art Market, they present second-hand clothing, bandanas, and patches customized with unique screen prints and lino cuts.
