Museumnight Friesland 2026 x H47 | Minor Feelings

On the final evening of Minor Feelings, join us at H47 for a special closing program with curator and artist An Ye Zhi de Jong and Korean-Frisian writer Yeji Streppel.

Curated by An Ye Zhi de Jong, Minor Feelings brings together work by Đăng-Vũ Đặng, Honey Birch, Linhuei Chen and An Ye Zhi de Jong, who each explore Asian identity from their own personal and artistic perspective. The exhibition reflects on themes such as belonging, cultural heritage, loss and the ways identity can be shaped and reclaimed.

For this final evening, An will guide visitors through the exhibition and share more about the works and the ideas behind Minor Feelings. Afterwards, Korean-Frisian writer Yeji Streppel will read from her text Water, published in the collection Modelverhalen. In the text, she reflects on growing up in Friesland and navigating her Asian identity.

The program ends with an informal conversation between Yeji and An, with room for questions and thoughts from the audience. An will also be present throughout Museum Night, so feel free to drop by, explore the exhibition at your own pace and have a chat about the works.

About the guests

Yeji Streppel is a Korean-Frisian writer whose work explores identity, belonging and Asian roots. In Water, she uses the metaphor of drowning and learning to swim to reflect on alienation, adaptation and finding a sense of self.

An Ye Zhi de Jong is an artist and curator whose work explores adoption, origin, loss and the influence of bureaucratic systems on personal identity. She initiated and curated Minor Feelings and also presents her own work in the exhibition.
