Free Activities at VHDG


Throughout the duration of the exhibition, free activities are offered, organized in collaboration with artist Sophie Krier (Resident VHDG Lokaal), Siska Alkema (VHDG Education), and Roísín Douglas (Curator).

SATURDAY, June 21 | 14:00–16:00 | WORKSHOP

Create your own flat charm using silver clay with designer Isabel van Bodegom.

THURSDAY, June 26 | 19:00–20:30 | TALK

Join artists Sophie Krier, Amber Veel, and scientists Egge Knol and Wietske Prummel for a discussion about the relationship between humans and animals. This event is only in Dutch.

THURSDAY, July 3 | 15:30–17:00 | WORKSHOP

Bring a bit of soil from your garden or a public space and create your own portrait using it. Soil chromatography workshop with artists Elena Khurtova and Anika Schwarzlose.

(for all ages).

SATURDAY, August 2 | 13:00–14:00 & 15:00–16:00 | GUIDED TOUR

Curator Roísín Douglas and artist Amber Veel will guide you through the artworks.

SUNDAY, August 10 | 13:00–16:00 | FIELD TRIP

Explore the Leeuwarderbos with artist Marije Dijkstra and learn how to dye using plants, flowers, and other natural materials.

SATURDAY, August 16 | 14:00–16:00 | WORKSHOP

Join artist Marijke Klamer in working with clay, inspired by the concept of “the extended organism.”

SATURDAY, August 23 | 17:00–20:00 | PARTY

Closing event of the exhibition, featuring, among others, the mobile screen printing studio Kleine-Lijn.
