Nash Caldera is a visual and performance artist. In her art, she explores her identity as a Black Queer Woman. The colonial past in the Caribbean, religion and spirituality play a major role in her research. Nash takes you on a journey through her life. She shows you how these themes influence her current life.

 

Nash Caldera grew up with the Afro-Caribbean religion Santeria, in which superstitions and rituals play an important  role. This is reflected in her performances. She tells her stories through rituals, which makes her art recognizable for the viewer. Caldera stirs the emotions of her audience through a spiritual journey. Recently, the artist started researching the languages ​​she masters. How do these translate into her thoughts? Nash Caldera uses photography, video, installations and collages to bring her art to life.
